Can Chong sluice is one of the major irrigation works of the Mekong Delta under the Nam Mang Thit irrigation project. The work consists of 8 water discharge gates, a dam to prevent water from Can Chong river 110 m long, 10 m wide and more than 2,000 m water canal, with a total construction cost of more than 64 billion dong.

When the Can Chong irrigation sluice is put into operation, it will be able to prevent salinity, keep fresh water, provide irrigation water, and increase the production season for tens of thousands of hectares of rice in two districts of Tieu Can and Tra Cu, Tra Vinh province. .
